Per Kesselmar (*1960)

Per Kesselmar was born in Stockholm in 1960 and studied at the Valand Art Academy in Göteborg from 1984 – 86 before attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm from 1986 – 90.

Applying oil paint to different metals in up to forty layers, Kesselmar creates veritable colour spaces with a remarkable depth effect.

Kesselmar‘s works can be found in public and private collections such as in the Museum of Modern Art Stockholm, Nörrkoping Art Museum, Skövde Art Museum, the Lannan Foundation in Santa Fe and the SAK (Swedish Art Association). During his career to date, the artist has already been awarded several important scholarships and promotional prizes, the most recent being the famous Swedish Sten A Olsson Kulturstipendiat which enabled him a solo exhibition at Kunstmuseum Göteborg.
