Biography
Hanns Kunitzberger, born in Salzburg in 1955. Studies at the Mozarteum University for Music and Performing Arts in Salzburg. 1977 Diploma degree in stage design, costume design and theatre painting / scenography. Following master class, assistance among others Burgtheater Vienna. 1978 to 1982 further studies of theatre and film directing. From 1980 onwards, in addition to his work for theatre and film in Austria and abroad, painting and sculpture increasingly become the focus of his artistic development. 1983 to 1987 lives in Vienna. Working with music and sound, also in connection with painting. Continuation of preliminary work on two film projects of his own. Realization of a short film on the Lied by Gustav Mahler Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen. From 1987 to 1995 studio in southern Lower Austria. 1991 painting becomes the main activity. 1991 to 1995 painting cycle Die Schöpfung. Finishing the text version Die Schöpfung. Eine szenische Beschreibung. 1995 studio in Vienna. Start of work on Bildnisse und Abbilder. 1996 agrees for the first time to a presentation of his painterly work in public. Since 2009, lives and works in Berlin.
