VARIATIONS | with preference towards white

The basic theme of placing art from the 60ies in relation to traditional african art Galerie Dierking pursues also in its new exhibition VARIATIONS which assembles works to different colour tones of White.

in combination with the fragile materiality...

Beside the dynamic White of the cinematic plates of Wolfgang Ludwig hang the puristic Weissbild of Hermann Goepfert and the powerful bevel white colour strokes in combination with the fragile materiality of Giorgio Griffa.

The painting of Per Kesselmar involves the beholder in a deep, due to the brass plate warm and at first white colour space. For the paint of the Dogon mask as well as for the work of Thomas Virnich White is important for the haptic effect.

With Florian Baudrexel only the white monochromy which brings the structures and format of the painting to a vivid impression.

For the non-visible Nathalie Czech uses White while Otto Boll enables through his metall sculptures to experience the supposed white space totally new.
